We talked a long time ago about Stellantis' long-term strategy of making all its passenger vans electric. Toyota is saved from this movement, whose models are based on the same base but will maintain the combustion range in Proace and Proace City, at least for the moment. Although that does not mean that they forget about electrification; the new 2022 Toyota Proace City Electric has just arrived on the market and wants to become the ideal solution for many clients.
There are no changes compared to what was known. The new 2022 Toyota Proace City Electric compact model maintains that popular configuration consisting of a 136 hp electric motor and 260 Nm of torque, and a 50 kWh lithium-ion battery. Thanks to this, it achieves special autonomy, allowing users to travel up to 280 kilometers on a single charge. In addition, it includes a charger of up to 11 kW and can be used to charge the battery in a quick socket in just 50 minutes.
Another positive part of the Toyota Proace City electric van is that it maintains the same load volume as the other variants, so we see a 3.3 to 4.3 cubic meters depending on the chosen bodywork. It can also carry between 750 and 800 kg and has a towing capacity of 750 kg. At first glance, the differences between the electric and the combustion ones are the charging socket, the specific instrument panel, and the gear selector.
The new 2022 Toyota Proace City Electric van is available in various combinations. The companies can be chosen with two body sizes (Medium and Long) and two variants (Van and Combi) depending on the needs. In this case, the GX or VX finishes can be chosen, and the number of passengers can vary between 2 and 7.
On the other hand, Toyota Proace City Verso Electric van for passengers is also offered in two body sizes (Medium and Long), but only with the Family configuration. In this case, you can choose the Active or Advance finishes, more complete than the other variant. The starting price is 25,100 euros for the commercial version (price for freelancers, without taxes) and 39,000 euros for the version suitable for individuals.
