Roger Federer, one of the most accomplished tennis players in history, issued a video message on social media in which he revealed that he will not compete in the US Open and would forgo the rest of the current season.
Federer only played 13 matches this year. Despite being in good health, even at the age of a veteran, he generally had enough strength for around 60 battles every year. The Swiss's most notable success this season has been reaching the Wimbledon quarterfinals, which concluded in a four-match winning run.
