Jeep Avenger, the brand's first 100% electric Jeep SUV, was chosen "Car of the Year 2023". The small B-SUV is the first Jeep vehicle to receive this coveted medal in the competition's 60-year history. An impartial judging team of 57 expert jurors from 22 countries proclaimed Avenger the winner over the other six finalist cars: Kia Niro, Nissan Ariya, PEUGEOT 408, Renault Austral, Subaru Solterra, and Volkswagen ID Buzz. The Avenger led the runner-up by 87 points, with 328 points and 21 top marks. On Friday, January 13, the winner was declared at a ceremony at the Brussels Motor Show in Belgium.

"The Jeep Avenger deserved to be named Car of the Year 2023. It convincingly portrays the time in the automotive world and transmits the huge transformation Jeep is experiencing through its design. The Jeep Avenger is a true European with so many wonderful features that the jury is quite pleased with the title of Car of the Year 2023. Congratulations!"

"The Jeep Avenger has shown to be an ideal combination for most uses: it is tiny and agile for city driving, it has adequate power and torque to handle any situation on the road, and it has good autonomy even for medium-range trips. Despite being only 4.08 meters long, there is lots of space inside. It's a full-fledged automobile, not a city car. Above all, it has a killer design," stated Alberto Sabbatini, vice president of Car Of The Year.

"We are honored and proud that this authoritative jury of automotive experts has chosen the Jeep brand's first fully electric SUV as Car of the Year," said Christian Meunier, CEO of Jeep. Congratulations to all of the other finalists in this extremely competitive competition."

"Jeep Avenger demonstrates the commitment of the Jeep brand in the European market and electrification. It represents a big step forward in the electric evolution of the Jeep brand in Europe, as the first model in a portfolio of SUVs capable of expressing the iconic Jeep capability, capable of zero emissions, and with excellent qualities for the European market".

The launch of the Jeep Avenger in Europe signals the start of the next chapter of the Jeep brand's electrification, which will see the entrance of four fully electric vehicles on the market by 2025. By the end of 2030, European Jeep sales will be entirely electric.

The new Avenger is a tiny SUV that encapsulates Jeep DNA in four meters of length, and it is positioned in the rapidly increasing B-SUV sector, which is Europe's second-largest by volume. As a result, Avenger provides traditional Jeep capability in a compact package to ensure maximum peace of mind in all conditions. It is the first front-wheel drive Jeep SUV to come standard with Selec-Terrain systems and Hill Descent Control, which, along with the outstanding angles of attack (20°) and departure (32°) and ground clearance (200 mm), bring extraordinary levels of off-road prowess to the market. It is agile, capable on and off-road, and enjoyable to drive. It provides dynamic performance thanks to its rapid torque and is notable for its silence. The new Jeep Avenger SUV is aimed at active people who want a vehicle with compact dimensions and cutting-edge technological features: it features a new electric powertrain that combines an exclusive 400-volt electric engine with 115 kilowatts and 260 Nm of torque and a new battery with a capacity of 54 kWh. In the WLTP cycle, the electric range can reach 400 km and exceed 550 km in the city.

The Jeep Avenger debuted on October 17 at the Paris Motor Show and sparked widespread curiosity and positive feedback. Customer interest quickly confirmed the critical acclaim. Over 8,000 units were sold in less than three months after reservations for the exclusive 1st Edition, the fully equipped launch version opened, 60% of which were sold outside of Italy.
