Peugeot has taken the wraps off its innovative e-3008, an all-electric fastback SUV with an impressive range of up to 435 miles on a single charge. The e-3008 is the pioneering model to utilize the new eVMP platform from Stellantis, a design specifically engineered for electric vehicles that enhances performance, efficiency, and technological prowess.
The Peugeot e-3008 marks a groundbreaking shift from the previous generation of the 3008, a traditional SUV offering gasoline, diesel, or plug-in hybrid power options. The latest model showcases a chic, aerodynamic design featuring a sloping roofline, slender headlights, and a rounded grille. The rear boasts a unique coupé-like silhouette, accented with a spoiler and an elevated lip. The e-3008 also proudly displays the new Peugeot logo, a nod to the brand's rich heritage and emblematic of its move towards electrification.
The e-3008 will roll out in three electric models, each distinguished by its battery size, power output, and driving range. The base model will sport a 73 kWh battery, a single 210 hp motor, front-wheel drive, and a maximum range of 326 miles. The long-range model will feature a 98 kWh battery, a 230 hp motor, front-wheel drive, and an impressive 435-mile range. The dual-motor model will be equipped with a 98 kWh battery, two motors combining 320 hp, all-wheel drive, and a 326-mile range. All models are capped at a top speed of 112 mph and support rapid charging up to 160 kW, enabling them to charge from 20% to 80% in roughly 30 minutes.
Inside the Peugeot e-3008, you'll find a commanding 21-inch panoramic i-Cockpit screen spanning the dashboard. This screen doubles as both an infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. It can be personalized with various widgets and themes and display a range of information, including navigation, media, driving modes, battery status, and driver assistance features. Furthermore, the screen incorporates the climate control functions, accessible via touch-sensitive buttons or voice commands. Beneath the main screen is another touch-sensitive display that can be customized with shortcuts for frequently used settings.
The e-3008 boasts a sizable, cozy interior with ample headroom and legroom for passengers, both in the front and rear. The trunk has a generous capacity of 520 liters (18.4 cubic feet), which can be increased to 1,530 liters (54 cubic feet) by folding the back seats.
