Ziona Chana was from India, had 76 years and was the leader of a religious sect that practices polygamy for men and Chana was founded by his grandfather in 1942. He would not be the only man with such a large family. There are others who say they have a large family. The local press has always claimed that Chana held the "world record" , and his family is a local attraction: tourists come to see her.
The man who said he had the largest family in the world died: 38 wives, 89 children and 36 grandchildren.
